Grant for Vulnerable Groups
About GVG
The Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG) is a flagship social intervention designed to support Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations through targeted empowerment, capacity building, financial inclusion, social protection, and disaster resilience. The programme aligns with the Federal Government’s social protection and poverty reduction priorities and complements existing intervention frameworks aimed at delivering measurable impact at the grassroots. GVG is designed to reach over 8 million vulnerable Nigerians across all 774 Local Government Areas, ensuring nationwide coverage, transparency, and equitable access. Target beneficiaries include low-income households, unemployed and underemployed persons, women and youths, persons with disabilities, retirees, wounded and retired security personnel, widows, internally displaced persons, and other marginalized groups whose livelihoods have been affected by economic hardship, conflict, or disaster
