About Us
The Institutional Background
The central institution driving Nigeria's national social protection framework.
The National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) was established in 2015 and subsequently enacted into law by the National Social Investment Programme Agency (Establishment) Act, 2022.
This landmark legislation transformed NSIP from an ad-hoc programme into a full statutory agency equipped with the legal mandate and institutional authority to design social interventions, manage unified beneficiary registries, strengthen automated payment and accountability architectures, and coordinate with states and international development partners.
Operating under the federal architecture, NSIPA addresses immediate and systemic socio-economic inequalities, promotes equitable resource distribution, and serves as a vital catalyst for inclusive economic growth—directly touching the lives of over six million Nigerians.
Statutory Departments
The NSIPA Act, 2022 formalizes programme structures into six core operational pillars:
- National Home-Grown School Feeding (NHGSFP)
- National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO)
- Government Enterprise Empowerment (GEEP)
- N-Power Youth Empowerment Programme
- National Social Safety-Net Office (NASSCO)
- Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG)
