Why NSIPA
The NSIPA is a programme created to change the lives of millions of Nigerians living in extreme poverty, upgrade the standard of living and improve the economy of the country. The program achieves this by setting up interventions that work to reduce the rate of youth unemployment, eradicate malnutrition among children, improve school enrollment among children, and provide access to affordable credit for MSMEs. Through this, millions of Nigerians will have access to basic financial aid to meet some of their basic needs.

From the Co-ordinator's Desk
The National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) is Nigeria’s central institution for coordinating and delivering extensive social protection interventions targeted at the country’s poorest and most vulnerable populations. Its legal foundation is the National Social Investment Programme Agency (Establishment) Act, 2022, which transformed NSIP to NSIPA into a statutory agency. The Act provides NSIPA with powers and legal framework to design programmes, manage beneficiary databases, strengthen payment and accountability systems, and collaborate with states and development partners to ensure coherent national implementation.
With this legislation, the institutionalization of NSIP through the NSIPA Act, 2022 strengthened governance by formalizing programme structures into six core programme departments, each responsible for a distinct pillar of social protection. The six core departments are:
- National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP)
- National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO)
- Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP);
- N-Power
- National Social Safety-Net Office (NASSCO)
- Grant Vulnerable Group (GVG)
